D.I.Y LIFE!

Today's Inspiration: Reality Broads, Specifically Love and Hip Hop New York

I know, I know, here we go right?!  But I think you will be pleasantly surprised by what you find in the next few lines!

Most anybody who knows me knows my opinions of reality tv.  I don't entertain it on a regular basis, as a matter of fact, it's a distraction from the real world and what's in it.  I'm too busy tryna make my life and the lives of my children something worth living to consume myself with the goings on of complete strangers.  For the life of me, I couldn't understand the ratchet fascination.  I recently sat down and watched the most current season of Love and Hip Hop New York in its entirety to try and grasp the intoxication of this phenomena.  

I must say, I did discover something very interesting, and was pleasantly surprised.

Let me go ahead and silence these ratchet hoe lovers by saying that its still a H.A.M and pitiful representation of Blacks in the entertainment world.  DON'T GET IT TWISTED!  I decided to address it like a study of some wild animal, take a scientific approach.  I was determined to find value in this minstrel show.  And Guess what....I sure did!

What I discovered, is the real reason these people subject themselves to constant scrutiny.  These people are taking a D.I.Y approach to their lives, or at least we are giving them the benefit of the doubt at this very moment and say that's what is going on.  We can extract this deeper meaning from observation of the show, because each character functions in their own little sphere, focused only on the things that further individual agendas.  This is why the interactions are so explosive, there's no regard for how these actions effect those that surround them.

I admire the tenacity, I abhor the recklessness.

It seems the characters lack humanity, yet when they display any type of emotion, it's very intense.  They are completely incapable of recognizing how their own actions has led them to their current circumstances and immediately begin devising a plan even more foolish than its predecessor.  Some of these people are completely incapable of forming real human connection and keep people in their lives as a means to an end. 

ANDROIDS!

Take the good, the tenacity, the drive, the initiative from the Infotainment elite, not the utter disdain and disregard for others.  Of course I know this is going to be impossible for the masses, as they thrive on the ignorance being emulated, but in order to retain some semblance of a Soul, I suggest you try.  Recognize ignorance is everywhere and does not need to be fabricated and displayed on Television, a simple conversation at work can supply all the filth you need.  Stop looking at BS, GET MONEY!
