Mid-Year Resolution Check

Well, 6 months in, I can say that I did manage to stick with 2 things I declared I would change for the upcoming year.  I vowed to watch the entire season of Scandal, AND to nix about 7-10 minutes off my everyday get ready routine.   Feeling empowered by this recent discovery, I began to think about the other promises I made to myself.  Being as though I only have 6 more months to get it in, it was time to evaluate my list from a realistic standpoint, as opposed to wishful thinking.

Do you ever wonder why it's so hard to keep a resolution?  Why is it so hard not to let down the one person who you will always have...You?!  The things we tell ourselves are often expendable and I just don't understand why.  I'm good for disappointing myself.  The only promise I will be making moving forward is to remember to put myself first at times.  I will no longer take the mentality that my feelings are the least important in a situation, and the priority is everyone else.  After all, no one can love me like me.  The people who surround you can only lead by example.  Take the initiative to treat you the way you deserve.  Lets not loose our minds and think this means you can start treating people any ole kind of way any neglecting your responsibilities...um, negative.  SOME of us can benefit from a little less emphasis on ourselves and become more open to others.  This is definitely NOT for you!!!  All I'm saying is take a few minutes everyday and do something for you.  Whatever happens in your day, make sure you keep this appointment as if your life depended on it.  It's amazing how much difference this one minuscule thing will make in your overall attitude and opinion of your day.  Before you know it, you will no longer need to reserve resolutions for once a year, better you will become a daily thing and you just might not have anything left to promise;-)

Crystals and Couture

Those just might be my 2 favorite C words known to man!  With the start of a new year, it's only right I acquire a little bit of both!  I've had my eyes peeled for the past few weeks for all of the best sales; I had my heart set on a new piece of Rainbow Tourmaline and Rose Quartz(see below for crystal properties and uses if you aren't familiar!).  At the same time, I have also been dreaming of some new bags; crossbodys and a satchel, to be specific; a little on the fancy side though.  All of my work was not in vain because guess what?!  Marshall's is now carrying Badgley Mischka handbags and wallets-mike drop...but it gets even BETTER-not one item is priced over $29.99!!  Wait, What?!  Yes Please!!  Amazon has 1 lb of Raw Rainbow Tourmaline AND Rose Quartz for under $15.00.  I also came across a National Geographic Rock Polisher for $39.99!!  Your girl is absolutely THRILLED!!  What crystals do you have your eye on?!  Have you guys come up on any superstar purse deal

You Only Owe YOURSELF

I had an epiphany the other day... What if we put all the energy we expel on others that is foolishly wasted BACK into ourselves, our life dreams, and into creating the world we CHOOSE to live in??!! Before we all become hopelessly selfish and self-involved, re-read, and take in the thought in its ENTIRETY!!!  I am talking SPECIFICALLY in instances where your positive energy, time, and effort are not being reciprocated. There are so many situations we find ourselves in to which we develop an animosity of sorts towards those we are actively trying to help when we don’t feel that same energy being returned to us in one form or another.  Yet, we are taking umbridge with the wrong individual.  The person we should be focusing those feelings is right there waiting on the other side of the mirror.  That is who entangled you and your resources to an individual making moves to which your higher self is not in agreement.  This is who we should look to for explanation and a game

Being Present

This Moment, the one happening right now, is ALL that there is.  Allow me to explain... Yes, there is a past, things that have already happened.  What must be understood about these events is, once they happen, they are OVER.  It's gone.  If it is any point in time that you are not actively engaged in, that point does not currently exist.  The principle is also works on the inverse; anything that has yet to occur, has yet to come into existence , and should have absolutely NO bearing on what is currently happening to you. Our past is a experienced-based tool from which to learn and grow FORWARD.  It is not meant to trap us or the people in our lives, preventing our best lives from being brought to fruition.  If there is something behind you, LET IT GO.  Grasp the lesson and understand that there is no going back.  On the same note, we must also do the same when it comes to anticipation of events yet to come.  Being wrapped up in anxiety of how something MAY play out
