Accessories for the Soul

There is one thing that I know for sure has always been  life-long love...stones and crystals.  Ever since I was a kid I can remember visiting my aunt at Liberty Science Center and begging my Grandmother for $5.00 so I could buy a new "rock".  There was even this guy in my town who made a living on a converted school bus visiting schools having kids "dig"(more like sift through shallow trays!) through sand to unearth their own minerals.  I lived for these types of things(weird kid, I know!).

As an adult, not much has changed; I mean, my palette has become a bit more refined, switching out pyrite for 14K, and tiger's eye for little Dior birds that sing.  Yet, I still retained my love for raw, uncut, unpolished quartz crystal.  My birthstone is Amethyst, and it definitely holds a special place in my heart, so when I came across this particular necklace, it peeked my interest.

I purchased this from the Black Owned company Ancient Aura Jewelry.  When I tell you it was the stones that attracted me, but the variety that kept me, I tell you NO lie!  Let me not get ahead of myself, lets discuss my piece...The particular necklace I purchased costs $19.99 and also comes in a Pink Ice and Clear Quartz.  The chain is gold plated, as specified in the product description, and is guaranteed not to fade, a claim that has certainly rang true.  I would, however, suggest if you purchase the largest of the stones(yes, you have an option of stone size!), that you swap out the chin for something with slightly more weight to it, as the chain is a little on the thin side.

The company offers a wide range of diverse African inspired pieces, including things that specifically speak to African American Culture.  I am overall impressed and cannot wait to see where the brand goes next.  I would love to see something set in Actual Gold; perhaps the Black Unicorn...(Hint Hint!)  Whatever happens next, I'm here for it and I'll get to say I knew them when and put the world on game before they blew. ~The Queen~

Crystals and Couture

Those just might be my 2 favorite C words known to man!  With the start of a new year, it's only right I acquire a little bit of both!  I've had my eyes peeled for the past few weeks for all of the best sales; I had my heart set on a new piece of Rainbow Tourmaline and Rose Quartz(see below for crystal properties and uses if you aren't familiar!).  At the same time, I have also been dreaming of some new bags; crossbodys and a satchel, to be specific; a little on the fancy side though.  All of my work was not in vain because guess what?!  Marshall's is now carrying Badgley Mischka handbags and wallets-mike drop...but it gets even BETTER-not one item is priced over $29.99!!  Wait, What?!  Yes Please!!  Amazon has 1 lb of Raw Rainbow Tourmaline AND Rose Quartz for under $15.00.  I also came across a National Geographic Rock Polisher for $39.99!!  Your girl is absolutely THRILLED!!  What crystals do you have your eye on?!  Have you guys come up on any superstar purse deal

Delightfully Disconnected

This idea started in my journal this morning, then I later thought to pose it to the rest of the world...I recently came across an article (linked below the post) on that talked about lucid dreaming.  I no longer believe in coincidence, an took this as a response to the unanswered questions bouncing around in my head about what is actually HAPPENING to my mind and thought process as I grow, evolve, and change.  It broke me down in plain English, and helped me gain much-needed clarity on my current situation... What the article basically said, in a nutshell is that we are never truly awake until/unless we are completely focused, and living in the present moment.  The concepts of past, present, and future are all one construct; all existing right now, simultaneously.  In essence, we are constantly experiencing these things both consciously, and subconsciously.  What we do from day to day, is experienced through a state of Lucid Dreaming; a sort of half conscious

The Mis-Education of Basic Bi***es

Today's Inspiration: #1 Stunner...Baby The Mis-Education of Basic Bi***es As Our Story Was Previously Unfolding...we were standing in front of an establishment that shall remain nameless, being blinded by some real mess. Per our last conversation, this is where the BKs and I were contemplating just what it took to be Barbie. As we were all adding our respective ideas to the mental list, it was apparent, the Basic rocking the charm, much to our disappointment, we no Barbie. This is where situation turned from nostalgic to pitiful. By no means were we gonna let this masquerade continue,  so as real OGs, we felt at this point, it was time to take action. I couldn't honestly, in good conscience, blame any of the subordinates, none of them were rockin the charm.  To keep this official, let's name the leader of the gaggle Skipper, Barbie's younger teenage sister, who just never quite managed to gain the Barbie fame( still waiting in the wings Tho to seize the throne; Bi***he
